Planning a Last Minute or Late Wedding.

The new trend for organising a wedding in a few weeks or months has probably been given a boost by programmes such as Don't Tell The Bride, where the groom to be has 3 weeks to organise everything from scratch without the bride knowing a thing, not even the style of the dress she will wear on the day! Late weddings, or those that are put together in a few months are becoming a reality, especially where the motivation is an excellent deal from the venue. It may be a little more frantic but it is normal to be running around trying to finalise suppliers and ideas a few weeks before. If time is really tight just keep it simple. The main thing is to organise the ceremony and venue, sort out the number of guests you intend to have, book a photographer (but there's a lot to choose from) and choose your wedding dress.

Generally a wedding dress needs to be ordered and a lead time of 16-20 weeks should be allowed. If you need something quick and don't mind the fact that the dress won't be current season, seek out the sample gowns that are offered in many bridal shops for less than the full retail price. Check our service directory and see if they have dates available and consider a day other than a Saturday as this can often work in your favour. You may also get a venue or photographer on a weekday who would normally be booked at the weekend. Popular venues often can do more than one wedding a day and so will charge more for exclusive use, so why not have a weekday instead?
