Wedding Shows around Bristol and Somerset

Why visit a wedding show? They are time savers and the wedding show season is the perfect opportunity to meet a large selection of wedding services face to face in a single day. These shows are usually held at venues licensed for marriages. You can save yourself time by going to a wedding show where everything you will need is to hand. Apart from bridal shops and photography studios, wedding services are not usually found on the High Street.

Wedding Venues and Exclusive Use.

The majority of your cash will go on the wedding venue and food, as much as 60% of your budget is the norm. However shop around if you want exclusive which means that your wedding is the only one that day. Smaller country house venues such as Compton House in Axbridge offer the couple exclusive use. Larger venues can and will hold up to three weddings on the same day during peak season. If you don't want to share your day with anyone else, book an out of season or midweek wedding, or choose a venue which can only do one wedding a day. Don't be put off by the high costs at one venue as there is bound to be another quite literally round the corner.

One way to get exclusive use at a popular venue is to join the trend for weddings on any day of the week and which give you more options. The cost will be less as many venues offer discounts for off peak and you won't be 'sandwiched in' between other weddings as can be the case on a busy weekend. So it's worth finding out more about.

Wedding Venues and Extras.

Many venues have an 'all inclusive' packages which give you a good idea of how much it will all cost. Check though if they charge extra for hiring table linen and furniture as some do. See our planning guide for more about wedding venues

Be clear about what is expected of you if you book a venue for the day. Some insist on a set number of guests for the day and evening. Get this information first and shop around, there is no shortage of venues to hold a civil ceremony in these days.

Wedding Ideas and Money Savings.

Weekday weddings are becoming very popular for couples who want to do something else with their cash. See the discounts and offers page for more wedding discount ideas. Some brides buy their wedding dress first, (can take 15-20 weeks when ordering from regular stock) then wait to see if there are deals at the venue. All the other services such as mens suit hire, photographers, wedding cakes, florists and entertainment can be booked very quickly so you can wait for a venue deal if you want to.

There is a very relaxed feel to the traditional wedding breakfast nowadays and afternoon tea is becoming a fashionable alternative along with a pig roast or homecooked buffet in the evening for all your guests. Afternoon tea parties are popular and if you are looking for a single solution for vintage china hire, very nice cup cakes and cottage garden flowers visit www.poppygreens.co.uk
